We often look to Mercedes-Benz for indications of future auto innovations, and looking at the upcoming 2014 S-Class can tell us a lot. Mercedes-Benz is obviously excited about the vehicle, whose debut is scheduled for the middle of May in Hamburg, Germany. There's been a flurry of activity surrounding the vehicle, its tech, and many other features that are new not only for Mercedes-Benz, but for the auto industry as a whole.

According to reports, the new 2014 S-Class has received some significant interior design updates, making for a smoother tactile experience and seamless, efficient functionality. Despite a few classy retro touches incorporated as a nod to Mercedes past (like the two-spoke steering wheel), this vehicle is crammed with futuristic technology features that we can't wait to get our hands on! For example, we'd love to play around with the large dual touch screens artfully positioned in the dash, introducing digital gauges and readouts. Lighting is functional, decorative, and atmospheric all at once, adding nuance to the tactile luxury elements present. Heated and cooled seats that massage, heated armrests, and the notorious 'fragrance dispenser' that releases perfume into the interior all add to the pampered driving experience this model promises.

As increasing numbers of auto features become integrated with smart phone connectivity and Internet applications, new ways to interact with a car come into play. The 2014 S-Class has many comfort and convenience features that can be controlled with an integrated smart phone-or three.

As Mercedes-Benz dealers, it's hard to see and hear about all of these developments without having the vehicle in front of us to explore! In Lakeland, Mercedes enthusiasts are surely on the edge of their seats waiting for more information, and we can't blame you.
