We know that Mercedes-Benz drivers in the Orlando area love their Mercedes cars for their innovative tech and safety features, an area where the luxury automaker truly shines and stands out from other brands. Well, those same area drivers will be happy to know that Mercedes-Benz won't quit, and is forging ahead into the future of auto tech innovation. We've heard tell of some interesting developments over at Mercedes-Benz Research & Development North America and we thought we'd share them here.
The Research & Development folks are looking at the possibilities of Google Glass, in particular GPS and navigation capabilities. The automaker has visions of a future where drivers are able to seamlessly shift between in-car navigation and walking directions on the street, all with one device. You may be thinking that something like this is already possible with a smart phone, to which we'll say-sure. But Mercedes-Benz is taking it one step further, and is attempting to make driving simply one step in getting you to where you need to go.
"Point-A-to-Point-B" thinking has never been at the root of Mercedes-Benz innovation; the brand has never been willing to sacrifice style, performance or comfort for an ordinary driving experience. We're intrigued by the possibilities of using Google Glass with future Mercedes-Benz cars (which will, no doubt, have a suite of built-in features that are already impressive on their own.) Here at Fields Motorcars, we'll do our best to stay up to date on this development, so check back often for news! And of course, if you're curious about the features currently available on Mercedes-Benz models, you can always come see them for yourself at our nearby dealership.
