A lot of people think that cars come in one of only two price ranges: super affordable and super expensive. This is a complete misconception, but we get it. There are an overwhelming number of consumers out there that want the nicest new car they can afford for as little money as possible, and there are certainly a decent number of consumers that want the nicest car money can buy, regardless of cost.
This cuts out the auto market's "middle class," however, which consists of people that can afford more than base models for non-luxury brands yet don't want to drop six figures for a vehicle. For these people, Autoweek happily presents their Top 10 Mid-Price Cars for 2014, of which the 2014 Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class is one.
Specifically, Autoweek mentions the 2014 Mercedes-Benz CLA250 and the 2014 Mercedes-Benz CLA45 AMG®, due in large part to their powerful engine offerings. The CLA250 packs a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine capable of producing 208 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque, while the CLA45 AMG® bumps those numbers up to an impressive 335 hp and 332 lb-ft and tacks on all-wheel drive.
Of course, any Mercedes-Benz dealer would tell you that these cars are more than their engines, with great build quality, lavish interiors, extensive technology, and some of the best safety features in the industry proving precisely that. Its undeniable style and reasonably affordable price tag make it accessible to a number of customers, which must be why it's on this Autoweek list. Getting a great car doesn’t mean over-spending or bargain-hunting; it can mean just finding the best value right there in the middle of the road.
