Mercedes-Benz just keeps rolling out new tech, and we're excited to announce this latest development: a safety feature called the Real Life Safety assistance system. The main function of this new feature is to prevent drivers from unknowingly drifting into the wrong side of the road.

Full-on direct frontal impact is often fatal, making it one of the most dangerous types of auto accidents. By helping prevent drivers from driving into oncoming traffic, the new Mercedes system has the potential to save many lives.

The technology involved includes a camera mounted on the windshield which surveys the environment for no-entry signs and other signals of direction of traffic, than uses sound and visual warnings to alert the driver if he or she is coming close to crossing over. The system can also identify speed limit and other road signs.

European Mercedes drivers will benefit from the technology before we here in the US will, but we're looking forward to seeing it in future Mercedes models. And as Mercedes-Benz dealers, we're very happy with the push for safety innovation Mercedes-Benz has pursued lately. And plenty of driver-assistance features are already available in Mercedes models in showrooms across the US right now: features like ATTENTION ASSIST®, which can help correct steering, assess the driving environment, and learn your driving habits to help you prevent drowsy driving. Or Active Blind Spot Assist, which helps you keep tabs on those crucial areas just outside your field of vision on the road, using radar sensors in the rear bumper and an icon in rearview mirrors to help you avoid hitting vehicles in your blind spots.

To learn more about the many high-tech safety solutions offered by Mercedes-Benz, Florida drivers need only to come see us and ask! As Mercedes dealers it's our duty to stay up to date and help our customers make an informed purchase, so we're here to help.
