The latest push by Mercedes-Benz to advance their performance models, titled Performance 50, has given us some exciting new models to drool over. The Performance 50 initiative is to sell more than 30,000 performance units by 2017, the AMG® brand's 50th anniversary, bringing the AMG® arsenal up to over 30 different models. Like the 2014 Mercedes-Benz CLA45 AMG® 4MATIC® sedan, arriving in the US in November of this year.
Though the highly anticipated new CLA-Class has been leaked and reviewed and spotted everywhere by now, the performance models definitely deserve more attention. Until now, power and speed have been the name of the game for the AMG® brand, but now you can add agility into the picture. 4-wheel drive has always served the AMG® 4MATIC® models well, and in the newest iteration we're sure drivers are in for an even smoother ride and nimbler handling experience. 18" wheels are standard, as is a new 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. A 'mood' button on the center console lets drivers select Sport, Manual and Controlled Efficiency modes for driving, letting you choose how to use the 355 horsepower at your disposal.
