Of all the vehicles currently for sale at your local Mercedes-Benz dealer, few are more iconic than the 2014 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class, which has long served as the paragon of luxury and performance as a grand touring coupe that any auto enthusiasts would love to own.
Well, we've got good news for consumers considering buying a new 2014 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class. At some point over the course of the next year or so, a new engine previously only available overseas, is going to be made available to American consumers.
The engine in question is a 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine that will appear in the 2014 Mercedes-Benz SL400. With 328 hp and 354 lb-ft of torque, as well as a zero-to-62 time of 5.2 seconds, it should be a pretty popular option for a number of different customers, in particular those that love speed but wouldn't mind paying a little bit less than what the current lineup of SL-Class models cost.
While it's true that the 2014 Mercedes-Benz SL440, SL63 AMG® and SL65 AMG® are more powerful than this new engine offering, we think this new trim will open up a truly wonderful convertible to a new group of consumers, and at the end of the day, that's what working for a Mercedes-Benz dealership is all about. We want to introduce luxury cars to more and more new consumers, and this is a great way to make that happen.
The SL400 trim isn't yet available, but if you've got questions about when it might be, simply give us a call here at Fields Motorcars, and we'll answer all your questions!
