There are thousands of people worldwide who get a good chunk of their automotive news and opinions from the wildly popular BBC show, Top Gear. Of course, in that role, Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May have quite a responsibility to consumers to absolutely nail their annual "Car of the Year" awards, and we here at Fields Motorcars of course think they did a splendid job this time around, as Mercedes-Benz vehicles took home three of the top honors for 2014.

Specifically, the 2016 Mercedes-AMG® GT was named the Sports Car of the Year, which makes sense considering its combination of sleek aesthetics and unbelievable driving dynamics. "Right out of the box, everything about the driving of the AMG® is pretty well spot-on," Top Gear writes. "Its bark is fierce and its actions sharp, but it's on your side. It's got the racing spirit of AMG® and the thoroughness of a Mercedes."

The 2015 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Estate also was named the Family Car of the year, as it is just as attractive for a daily commute as it is a cross-country road trip. "It's the ideal car for a cross-continental mission: a relaxed, gorgeously appointed estate that never puts a foot wrong," says Top Gear. "It's the perfect companion"

Finally, there's the 2015 Mercedes-Benz S-Class, named the Luxury Car of the Year for being both gorgeous and technologically advanced. "This is the most profligate…gadget-filled monster currently on sale from [Mercedes-Benz], and it is nothing short of glorious."

So thank you, Top Gear, for all the love toward Mercedes-Benz vehicles. People trust the opinions of these guys, and this year, we certainly can't disagree with them.
