With the North American International Auto Show officially underway this week in Detroit, car fans from all over the country are prepared to let themselves loose on what is typically the largest and arguably the most relevant car show the U.S. hosts all year long.  That being the case, it’s no surprise that every Mercedes-Benz dealer in the country is so excited about the redesigned 2015 Mercedes-Benz C-Class.  One look at the vehicle is enough to tell you that this car could very well shake up the industry.

We know that sounds like hyperbole, but it’s the truth.  Really.  The C-Class is already our best-selling model, but with the latest upgrades the higher-ups at Mercedes-Benz are expecting that lead to widen, not just in terms of other Mercedes-Benz vehicles, but across the industry.  In other words, this is a car we think could be king of its class.

There will be two trims available when it finally hits dealerships in the fall: a C300 4MATIC® with a 2.0-liter turbocharged direct-injection in-line four-cylinder engine capable of producing 241 hp and 273 lb-ft of torque, and a C400 4MATIC® that offers a new 3.0-liter V6 that can get up to 329 hp and 354 lb-ft of torque.

The exterior design is overwhelmingly gorgeous, the suspension has been updated, 220 pounds have been dropped from the overall weight of the car, and the interior is even more luxurious than the outgoing version of the vehicle.

Obviously, Mercedes-Benz always strives to be among the best automakers in the business, but this is a car that’s really going to put the exclamation point on that effort.  We’ve been thrilled to see and read all the glowing reviews coming out of Detroit, and we can’t wait to see it in person!
