Fans of Mercedes-Benz have been overwhelmed with excitement about the upcoming 2015 Mercedes-Benz S-Class coupe for months now, and with strong debuts at Frankfurt back in the fall (in concept form) and Geneva a few weeks ago (in production form), how could anyone blame them?

Next month, however, at the New York International Auto Show, Mercedes-Benz is preparing to roll out a much more powerful version of this two-door beauty, and we’re not understating it when we say we can’t wait to get a better sense of the 2015 Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG® 4MATIC® Coupe in just a few weeks.

It’s a long name, but it also boasts a monster of an engine.  Under the hood of this gorgeous two-door luxury coupe will be a hand-built, twin-turbo 5.5-liter V8 engine capable of pumping out an incredible 577 hp and 664 lb-ft of torque.  That’s a boost of 41 hp and 73 lb-ft over the outgoing version and certainly enough to send chills down Mercedes-Benz fans’ spines.

Those numbers can project this 2-ton rocket towards 60 MPH in a scant 3.9 seconds, and with 4MATIC® four-wheel drive and air suspension, it should offer incredible handling and an unbelievably cloud-like drive.

As a respected Mercedes-Benz dealer in Lakeland, we here at Fields Motorcars are eagerly-anticipating the arrival of the 2015 model year S-Class cars later in the year, but for now we’ll happily wait and see what turns up at the New York Auto Show, knowing full well that it’s likely to mean great things for the future of Mercedes-Benz coupes.
