There are some really fun things happening in the world of luxury cars right now, and here at Fields Motorcars the most recent news to trickle down the grapevine is that the upcoming Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe is going to resemble the revered S-Class Coupe in all of the most important ways, the most notable difference being price.
The German automaker released images of the new C-Class Coupe earlier this month and all it takes is a cursory glance at the vehicleto know that designers pulled a lot of inspiration from the S-Class two-door. That’s not a huge surprise considering that the C-Class sedan pretty clearly is just a scaled-down version of the S-Class sedan, but there wasn’t necessarily any inkling or expectation for this car to do the same. We’re certainly glad that it did, though, because now both vehicles are about as gorgeous and modern-looking as anything currently in the Mercedes-Benz stable.
Admittedly, the drivetrains are different between the two vehicles, but it does look as though the engines used for the other C-Class sedan models will repeat themselves in the C-Class Coupe. The first model to be made available is the C300, which in the four-door version sports a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine capable of generating up to 241 hp and 273 lb-ft of torque.
We don’t know what other trims will be made available for fans of Mercedes-Benz in Lakeland, but we’re guessing most of those in the sedan range will carry over, including the C400, C450 AMG® Sport, and C63 AMG®.
We’re excited to know that this new coupe will give
consumers a lot of what they love in the S-Class vehicle, but for a little more
reasonable price. Our customers must be thrilled, too!
