For a huge chunk of the country, August more or less signals the end of good weather for the year, but here in Florida we all know that great weather is more or less a year-round thing. It’s why many of us made the move here in the first place.

Knowing that, it could be a bit of a bummer that Mercedes-Benz would only just now release images of the new 2017 Mercedes-Benz S-Class convertible, because it will be only another month or two before people in Wisconsin and New York and Idaho start thinking about winterizing their vehicles and breaking out the snow tires.

Here, though, convertible talk is perfectly appropriate, and we’re thrilled to see Mercedes-Benz come up with a cabriolet version of its flagship S-Class line. The automaker keeps coming up with new variations of the vehicle, but this is arguably our favorite yet, mostly because it looks as though the drivetrains and other luxuries appearing in the non-cabriolet versions of the car also will make their way to the convertible version. That means loads of power and loads of creature comforts for fans of this car, but who would expect anything else from Mercedes-Benz?

The lid is expected to be cloth rather than metal, with a window made of glass rather than plastic, meaning the roof will roll back and roll up conveniently without compromising the quiet ride Mercedes-Benz vehicles are known for.

As your Mercedes-Benz dealer, we’re excited about the prospect of this vehicle, even if it will be many months before we actually are able to stock it (the car is a 2017 model year vehicle, after all). The wait should be a quick one, though, and we can already tell it will be worth our patience.
