In our last post we talked about how excited fans of Mercedes-Benz in Florida should be about the upcoming Mercedes-Benz C350 Plug-In Hybrid, perhaps the most dynamic, comfortable and efficient hybrid that we've seen, but as the North American International Auto Show in Detroit has wrapped up, we felt it would be worth taking a quick spin around the other essential bits of Mercedes-Benz news coming out of Motor City over the course of the last couple weeks. Here's a quick rundown:
  • Mercedes-Benz F 015 Luxury in Motion – Probably the buzziest vehicle put on the floor by Mercedes-Benz this month, the F 015 Luxury in Motion is a research car designed to innovate the user experience and create a sneak peek into the future of cars. Essentially, the concept car will use a variety of advanced technologies to drive autonomously, making the Mercedes-Benz experience one of retreat, while the vehicle does most of the work.
  • 2016 Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe – This gorgeous upcoming two-door SUV was built to wreak havoc on roads and only will be made available in AMG® trims. That means the "slowest" engine one can get with this is a twin-turbo V6 capable of generating upwards of 362 hp, though there also will be a twin-turbo V8 that can go as high as 577 hp. It's a gorgeous CUV coupe with some serious muscle. What's not to like here?
  • 2016 Mercedes-Benz C450 AMG® 4MATIC® - Sitting in between the base C-Class model and the range-topping Mercedes-AMG® C63, the upcoming C450 packs all the luxuries of the standard model but adds a stronger twin-turbo V6 engine capable of producing 362 hp and 384 lb-ft of torque.
It's been a fun month for Mercedes-Benz news out of Detroit; now we just have to wait for some of these vehicles to hit production lines so your friendly neighborhood Mercedes-Benz dealer can actually sell them!
