There are a lot of superlatives handed out every year for vehicles sold in the U.S., but we here at Fields Motorcars always are especially interested in the award that honors the best car in the world. This year, the World Car of the Year accolade was awarded to the 2015 Mercedes-Benz C-Class at the New York Auto Show, and every Mercedes-Benz dealer in the world is absolutely thrilled about that.
The award was handed out on Thursday in New York as a result of over 75 international auto journalists casting their votes for the best overall car on the planet this year. Universally lauded, the new C-Class is most often praised for its impeccable build quality, smooth ride and handling, lavish interior and awesomely powerful engine options. It was completely redesigned for this most recent model year, and both consumer and journalist response to the car has been overwhelmingly positive.
Even better for Mercedes-Benz was that two other models won awards in the four remaining categories, including the 2015 Mercedes-AMG GT for World Performance Car of the Year and the 2015 Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe for the World Luxury Car of the Year. In all, of the five possible awards handed out for worldwide excellence, Mercedes-Benz walked away with the majority of them. The rest of the auto industry split the other two accolades.
Obviously this is great news for owners of Mercedes-Benz and for Mercedes-Benz dealerships and we look forward to a great year selling some of the most respected vehicles in the world!
