Every reasonable car lover on the face of the planet eagerly looks forward to auto shows the way that young children eagerly anticipate the arrival of the holidays, but when a vehicle like the forthcoming 2017 Mercedes-Benz SL is set to debut, there’s simply no way to contain all of that excitement. A redesigned luxury convertible like the SL-Class is something worth looking forward to, but as of this month we finally are getting some details that show what the car will look like and what sorts of goodies it will include.

Earlier in November, Mercedes-Benz released a teaser image intended to generate buzz about the vehicle ahead of the L.A. Auto Show, but that was merely a silhouette and didn’t really give fans or media anything tangible to chew on. The actual debut of the vehicle, however, was considerably more rewarding, as we all finally were given the opportunity to see up close just how excellent this refreshed convertible actually is. Based on what was revealed in Los Angeles, the dedicated team at Field Motorcars is optimistic about what kind of job this car will do in replacing its predecessor.

What we do know is that the new SL-Class gets narrower LED headlights, a redesigned hood and an updated grille, while the inside has been reinvigorated, as well, with a new steering wheel, and a whole host of infotainment boosts. The driving technology and performance numbers are better, too, which spells good things moving forward for a model that fans of the brand have loved for some time now.

It’s easy to enjoy a good auto show like the one going down in L.A. right now, especially when there are hot new Mercedes-Benz models to experience in the process!
