There are dozens of different things worth adoring when it comes to the 2016 Mercedes-Benz E-Class luxury sedans, and the dedicated staff at Fields Motorcars is incredibly grateful to know that the higher-ups at the automaker are planning on giving us yet another reason to love it.
While the new Mercedes-Benz E-Class itself just debuted this past January, the brand already has made an announcement stating that AMG® would be getting in on the action with a more powerful version of the lauded midsize luxury sedan. Specifically, the new iteration will be called the Mercedes-Benz E43 AMG® sedan, and it’s going to pack a punch for those Lakeland drivers that desire a little added power.
Under the hood of this upgraded E-Class model will be a 3.0-liter, twin-turbocharged V6 engine capable of producing upwards of 396 horsepower. It will be paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission and also will feature an AIRMATIC® adjustable air suspension, sports-tuned steering, and a few different driving modes for drivers who like to switch things up based on their needs on a given day.
The bottom line is that this is intended to be a vehicle that drives like a champ.
"The new AMG® E43 offers impressive driving dynamics coupled with cutting-edge efficiency," Mercedes-AMG CEO Tobias Moers said in a statement. "Twin turbocharging, features adopted from motorsport immediately indicate to our customers that the [E43] offers pure Driving Performance coupled with cutting-edge technology and intense emotion."
Even better is that it sounds like Mercedes-Benz also is giving some consideration to releasing a E63 AMG® variant a little further down the road, which means this could just be the beginning of more power in the E-Class lineup.
