It used to be that the only AMG® vehicles available in the Mercedes-Benz lineup where the ones that were so outlandishly powerful that they were seen by some customers as mere outliers in the lineup. Now, however, more and more new Mercedes cars and SUVs are being assigned the AMG® designation, which is an undeniably good thing considering all the extra power and performance features these automobiles are receiving.

The most recent edition to the club is the 2017 Mercedes-AMG® GLE 43, which really isn’t all that dissimilar to the model that previously had been called the Mercedes-Benz GLE 400. Both versions of the SUV feature an excellent engine: a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V6 capable of generating upwards of 362 hop and 384 lb-ft of torque, certainly more than enough to see these vehicles perform quite well out on open roads.

What is different in the new AMG® version of the SUV is other performance add-ons, like larger brakes, a sportier suspension, and throttle mapping, all of which make for a tighter, more entertaining drive for those who desire such a thing.

ATTENTION ASSIST® comes standard on this vehicle, though several other advanced safety features like adaptive cruise control, emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, and lane-keeping assistance can be tacked on as part of the model’s Premium 3 Package.

Frankly, as your Mercedes dealership serving Auburndale, FL, we’re in favor of even more vehicles being given the AMG® performance treatment because these add-ons help prove what Mercedes-Benz vehicles really can do. If you’re interested in taking one for a test drive to experience all that power for yourself, do so sometime soon. We’ll be happy to get you behind the wheel to show you just how fun AMG® alterations can be.
