There is nothing quite like a good auto show, especially when the exhibition is giving Mercedes-Benz fans an opportunity to pump themselves up about updates and concepts that will find their way to production and, ultimately, the Fields Motorcars lot over the course of the next several months. The most recent auto show to provide Auburndale, FL customers that sort of optimism was the one in Shanghai, which introduced an updated 2018 Mercedes-Benz S-Class and a concept vehicle previewing a new Mercedes-Benz A-Class sedan.

The updated Mercedes-Benz S-Class isn’t necessarily revolutionary in that it really only includes a few minor visual tweaks, but those could be significant for those considering it when compared to other vehicles in the segment. Confirmed updates so far include more advanced matrix LED headlights, some new comfort features, and a new electronic driver assistance system that integrates a feature that adjusts speed for bends, highway exits, junctions, roundabouts, and even toll booths.

As for the new Mercedes-Benz A-Class sedan concept, we don’t know a whole lot just yet other than it will be called the “Concept A” sedan and will serve as a show for what the automaker has planned for its next generation of compact cars.

While neither of these models has found their way to our respected inventory of Mercedes-Benz cars for sale, we do eagerly anticipate their arrival, whether that be literal in the case of the 2018 Mercedes-Benz S-Class or spiritual in the case of the Concept A model. This is a brand that does a great job showcasing its innovation on the auto show circuit, and Shanghai has given us plenty to consider for the year ahead in luxury sedans.
