When it comes to “summer cars,” there really isn’t anything quite like a convertible, but the idea of a “summer car” really only exists in states outside of the one nicknamed after the sunshine. Here in Lakeland, FL, the weather is good enough all year long to make a convertible an everyday automobile, and with the practicality and lavishness afforded in the new 2018 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Cabriolet, it’s even more likely that Fields Motorcars customers will love the summer automobile that works wonders all year long.
While the new Mercedes E-Class convertible won’t arrive until later in the year, we already are excited to offer an updated version of the luxury cabriolet, particularly since it’s the first version of the midsized convertible to offer optional 4MATIC® all-wheel drive. Mated to a 3.0-liter, twin-turbocharged V6 engine capable of generating upwards of 329 horsepower, the drivetrain in this vehicle makes for fun driving dynamics that also are incredibly safe. The summer rains here in Florida can be pretty intense, and all-wheel drive helps keep this convertible stuck to the road when that precipitation comes pouring down.
The roof helps make this a great everyday car, too, as it’s noise-resistant and layered to help fight off the incessant rain. It can be opened or closed in just 20 seconds at speeds up to 30 mph, making it incredibly easy to enjoy the warm weather any time with a simple push of a button.
While we don’t carry this Mercedes-Benz vehicle just yet, it will arrive at our Florida Mercedes-Benz dealership sometime in the coming months, and when it does you’re welcome to give it a test drive to see for yourself just how delightful this yearlong “summer car” can be!
