There is an arms race in the automotive world these days, but unlike in years past where that arms race had everything to do with horsepower and infotainment technology, the new race is the one toward complete and total electrification. There is a strong push for vehicles to grow more efficient, and fewer trips to the gas station is enough to make any Lakeland, FL customer consider driving an electrified vehicle.

Knowing all of this, it should come as no surprise that Mercedes-Benz recently announced plans to completely electrify its range by 2022. That means the vehicles you know and love here at Fields Motorcars are going to get more efficient over the next half decade, keeping gas money in customers’ pockets and keeping the environment in better shape.

“Full electrification” doesn’t necessarily mean that every vehicle in the range will run on fully-electric drivetrains. Rather, it means that every vehicle in the range will be either a hybrid or an EV in the next five years. It’s a process that should fine-tune some existing favorites and could also be responsible for what the automaker estimates should be at least 50 new electric model options from now through 2022.

In the meantime, we have a number of excellent luxury sedans available for test driving right now, so come pay us a visit any time and get behind the wheel of one for a test drive. We feel as though we speak for all Mercedes-Benz dealers in Florida when we say we’re excited about the future of Mercedes-Benz automobiles, but the present is pretty nice, too.
