Here at Fields Motorcars, we hope you all had a wonderful weekend! While we did, part of us was wishing we were in California for the prestigious 2012 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance instead where some of the most iconic Mercedes-Benz vehicles were on display.

Last week at the 2012 Concours d'Elegance, attendees were greeted with over 200 collector cars, as well as a grand display of one of the most iconic vehicles in Mercedes-Benz history, including the SL Roadster which turned 60. With so many great new Mercedes-Benz vehicles, it is sometimes nice to take a look back in history and see how today's designs and styles have evolved from the past.

Six of the most historically symbolic Mercedes-Benz SL Roadster vehicles were on display and gave spectators a real glimpse into Mercedes history. Six variations of the SL Roadster were on display from the 1950's. And to contrast with new Mercedes-Benz SL-Class models, the 2012 SL63 AMG was on display highlighting the innovations over 60 years later.

Other SL-Class models on display included the SLS AMG Coupe, as well as the SLS GT AMG super sports car. Several vintage SL-Class models were also on display and for sale, including a 1955 300SL Coupe.

Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance has become a destination for collectors and car lovers from all around the world. As the New York Times puts it, "The Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance has often been called the World Series or Super Bowl of the automotive universe, but those descriptions sell this celebration short. If anything, it's more like the Olympics."

Perhaps next year you could fit this into your vacation plans, we know here at Fields Motorcars we are marking next year's date on our calendars!
