We've written about the new 2014 Mercedes-Benz E-Class models now available, but we wanted to put a closer focus on the safety features we can expect to find in the new E-Class (note: not every feature comes standard on every 2014 E-Class model):

·        Adaptive braking technology. This incorporates several features like Predictive Brake Priming, Automatic Brake Drying and Hill-Start Assist to anticipate your stopping needs based on driving behavior and road conditions.

·        Mercedes-Benz mbrace2™. This advanced system connects your smartphone, computer and car, providing cloud-based features, GPS tech and 24-hour support, an important lifeline connecting you to the resources you need for assistance.

-Brake Assist®. This feature senses emergency braking situations and helps reduce stopping distance by applying extra power to your sudden braking.

·       -Optional rear view camera. With additional visibility, keep tabs on what's behind you more easily.

·        -ATTENTION ASSIST®. If you're traveling over 20 mph, this feature kicks in and helps monitor vehicles in your blind spots, even going so far as to apply the brakes as needed to help you avoid a collision if warnings are disregarded.

·        -Optional Active Lane Keeping Assist®. Analyzing road markings and other driving conditions, this feature helps keep distracted drivers from floating into the other lane or off of the road.

Our Lakeland Mercedes dealership is looking forward to the day when we can help local Mercedes drivers discover these features for themselves. If you haven't met any of the new 2014 E-Class models yet, come on down to our dealership to take a 2014 Mercedes E350 or 2014 Mercedes E350 4MATIC® AWD for a test drive. (Only the sedan and wagon are available at this time.)
