Considering the most recent Super Bowl broke a record for viewership, we can all safely assume that a ton of people saw the new "Tortoise and the Hare" advertisement from Mercedes-Benz. Apparently, the commercial did its job, as searches for the Mercedes-Benz AMG® GT S featured in the spot have been up several hundred percent (and in one case, a few thousand percent) in the days and weeks since originally airing.

Specifically, AutoTrader searches for the high-performance coupe rose a massive 3,107% after the commercial aired, while Kelley Blue Book saw a boost of 950% in online interest for the new AMG® GT S. Those obviously are massive upticks in interest in what amounts to a pretty exclusive car, but the commercial was entertaining and memorable enough to get people searching for it long after the game was over.

The 60-second (mostly) computer-animated spot features the hare getting off to a blazing lead, as expected, then stopping for a quick poker game with his pals, while the tortoise ambles his way to a Mercedes-Benz manufacturing plant and hijacks a new AMG® GT S to help him blaze ahead of the rabbit en route to a race victory.

"Two years ago, Mercedes-Benz advertised an upcoming model – a…CLA – clearly aimed at younger buyers," AutoTrader.com senior analyst Michelle Krebs said in a recent interview with Luxury Daily. "Shopping for that car went through the roof on all third-party shopping sites and the vehicle wasn't even on sale."

That means for fans of Mercedes-Benz in Florida, demand for this newer model could be very high, but we like that almost as much as our customers seem to have liked the "Fable" commercial earlier this month.
