The J.D. Power & Associates Reliability Study is important for a number of reasons, not the least of which is helping gauge whether a consumer trusts a brand enough to want to come back to it at some point down the road. Based on three years' worth of consumer data that considers a number of criteria, The J.D. Power Reliability Study assigns each nameplate a score that represents the number of problems consumers have reported per 100 vehicles. The industry average, for example, is 147 problems per 100 vehicles. Mercedes-Benz, one of the top luxury automakers in the study, came in quite a bit below that number.

With only 119 problems per 100 vehicles, Mercedes-Benz was among the top five luxury automakers in the industry for this year's study, which looked at three-year-old vehicles from the 2012 model year.

Many of the most common issues are ones that don't really apply to Mercedes-Benz, which helps explain why they were so successful in the study. For example, one of consumers' biggest concerns is infotainment systems that are hard to use and don't respond well to voice commands. In new Mercedes-Benz vehicles, the infotainment systems are extremely intuitive, and many of our customers rave about the voice functionality.

As your Mercedes-Benz dealers, we here at Fields Motorcars are thrilled to see Mercedes-Benz finish so well in the 2015 J.D. Power & Associates Reliability Study, not only because it shows just how much consumers trust these vehicles, but also because it means good things for resale value and consumers looking to buy reliable vehicles among our certified pre-owned inventory. Come on down and see them for yourself!
