In an age where nearly everything in the auto industry has already been done, it can be challenging for automakers to come up with something that is both unique and recognizable enough to get consumers to bite. Mercedes-Benz, however, thinks they may have something with a new luxury plug-in hybrid minivan concept they're calling the Concept V-ision E.

Having debuted earlier this month at the Geneva Auto Show, the Concept V-ision E stood out even among many of the flashy sports cars making waves at the premier Swiss auto show. Believe it or not minivans are starting to make a comeback, and Mercedes-Benz is wise to try and get themselves at the forefront of the resurgence with a model that can offer things other brands can't.

The plug-in hybrid technology is one great example of this, and the numbers Mercedes-Benz threw around at Geneva regarding that technology were pretty impressive. The concept has an all-electric range of up to 31 miles, which is equivalent to about 78 miles per gallon. There is, however, also a four-cylinder engine that, combined with the electric motor, is able to produce upwards of 333 hp.

Luxury is the other leg-up, and this concept features two sunroofs, real nappa leather upholstery, a real wood floor and executive seats. We here at Fields Motorcars certainly hope we're able to sell this vehicle to family-focused fans of Mercedes-Benz in Florida. Frankly, if the minivan does end up making a comeback, we could see this model being a big reason for resuscitating consumers' interest.
