Any fan of the Mercedes-Benz brand knows that the automaker has been working very hard over the course of the last few years to develop an autonomous automobile that can drive with only minor intervention from any actual human being. To drive this way, engineers have added a number of advanced safety technologies that work together in an attempt to keep collisions from happening.

When it comes to passenger vans, American consumers have spoken over the years by consistently choosing minivans, in part because they’re more aesthetically-pleasing than the boxy full-size vans of the 1980s, and in part because they’re more maneuverable and efficient than their heftier brethren.

There was some hoopla last month about how the future date from “Back to the Future II” had finally come and gone, and while a lot of things from the film proved prophetic in terms of the actual future, there were quite a few aspects that the filmmakers got wrong. When the buzzy Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe Concept debuted at the Shanghai Motor Show back in the spring, there was an immediate sense that it was destined for production. In the time since that show, however, Mercedes-Benz has hinted that the vehicle will, in fact, go that route, and that was confirmed this month at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The GLC Coupe is happening, folks, and we’re very excited to add what should be yet another successful crossover to the Mercedes-Benz lineup.
